The most important part of a high-pressure aggregate is the pressure intensifier. Based on the area-ratio of the low-pressure piston to the high-pressure piston, a primary pending pressure is increased to a secondary operating pressure of up to 4200 bar. In a hydraulically driven pump, the primary pressure is always generated with an oil-hydraulic unit. The hydraulic unit can be omitted in pneumatically driven pumps as these pumps use compressed air as the primary motive power. That results in a cost benefit for compressed-air driven pumps and the makes portable use possible - an alternative for many cutting tasks.
